Drying Time
ArmourFill will be dry to the touch within 3-4 hours over most substrates and in ambient conditions. Avoid heavy traffic or cleaning for 48 hours after application. Protect from rain for a minimum of 24 hours per coat. Surface absorption, temperature and humidity affect drying time.
Coverage
75-95 sq. feet per 1gallon pail at 61 wet mils when used as a Level 5 surfacer.
Application
Spray Application / Level 5 Surfacer:
- Apply with professional grade airless spray equipment that meets or exceeds the following requirements: 1.5 GPM at 2800 PSI through a 0.025” spray tip and 50 feet ¼” i.d. hose.
- Perform a test application to adjust sprayer settings.
- Use a tip size ranging between 0.025” – 0.035”. Keep the gun 24” to 36” away from the wall surface. Move the gun parallel to the surface at a steady rate.
- Overlap each stroke approximately 50% to produce an even finish. Apply in a two-coat crosshatch application.
- Spray first coat vertically at 10 wet mills from left to right followed immediately by a second coat sprayed horizontally at six wet mils.
- When painting corners, aim the gun toward the center of the corner to ensure both sides are sprayed evenly.
- Apply at a minimum thickness of 16 wet mils to ensure proper material flow and leveling allow to dry.
Drying Time

Project Conditions
Substrate must be clean, dry, sound and free of contaminants such as dust, oil, mildew and efflorescence. Ambient conditions, substrate and the product itself must be at a minimum of 45°F during application and at least 84 hours following
Mixing
Thoroughly mix with a paddle mixer to a homogeneous consistency at low rpm. In a 1gallon container, up to 3-4 ounces of clean, potable water may be added to adjust viscosity. Close container when not in use. Strain through a standard paint-type strainer before use.
Substrate Preparation
New Drywall
Treat all joints, fasteners and accessories with the industry standard joint treatment system for attaining a Level 4 finish as outlined in Gypsym Association publication GA-214, “Recommended Levels of Gypsum Board Finish.”
Masonry and Textured Surfaces
Concrete and plaster surfaces should be thoroughly cured before application. Poured concrete surfaces should cure for at least 28 days before finishing. Cement and gypsum plaster basecoats should cure for at least 7 days before finishing. Remove all form release agents and efflorescence and grind down form lines or other irregularities which protrude from the plane of the substrate. Prefill any existing texture or depressions in the plane of the substrate using ArmourTone Level Coat or an approved leveler.
